185.6. That’s what the scale told me this morning. I started out at 190, then a couple of weeks ago, I was 192. That’s pretty awesome! Now, some of you may be thinking, 185.6 pounds? That’s not too bad. No, it’s not if you’re average or tall. I happen to be 5 feet tall. I used to be 5′ 1″, but I’ve lost an inch due to my spine issues. I digress.
I wish I could say I’m proud of myself this week, but I’m not. My water drinking was less than stellar, although I did move around a bit more. I was drinking a lot of hot tea this past week, though, since it’s so cold. What I need is water. I’m going to work on that this week.
I’ve added two new weapons in my weight loss arsenal. The first is a liquid multivitamin that is recommended by my chiropractor. It’s called Source of Life and it’s made by the company Nature’s Plus. I purchased my bottle at The Vitamin Shoppe. It’s pricey. I won’t lie to you. I think I paid around $36 for mine, but I can tell a difference between taking this and the vitamins I’ve taken previously. Let me give you a heads up, though. Your brain will not want to take it. Yes, it’s a liquid vitamin, but it looks like green sludge. Also be aware that it needs to be kept refrigerated. Back to the green sludge part. It’s thick. The dose is small, but it takes a few times to be able to knock it back. Even though it resembles green goop you’d expect to find on some radioactive pond, the taste is akin to pineapple with maybe a hint of mango. So, the taste isn’t as bad as the looks. I take Source of Life at night with the other vitamin I’m about to tell you about because I can’t take it in the morning with my thyroid medication. For me, it works because my body digests it as I’m sleeping. I wonder if that’s why it’s working so well. I’ve noticed a big increase in energy. My complexion is getting clearer, and my brain fog isn’t as bad. I feel like I’m sleeping better, too. Let’s move on to the next vitamin.
The second thing I’ve added is Omega vitamins. This also is in liquid form, and I purchase it from a wellness company that I also use to get my cleaning supplies and laundry detergent amongst other things. The company is called Melaleuca, and it is similar to Young Living as it also has essential oils, but Melaleuca is older than Young Living, and focuses more on overall wellness and environmentally friendly cleaning supplies instead of pushing the oils. I’m not saying Young Living is bad, so smooth the hackles YL groupies. I’m just saying that for me, I prefer Melaleuca. Moving on. I’m taking Melaleuca’s liquid Omega-3 vitamin. The flavor is Lime Sorbet, and I’ve got to tell you, it’s awesome. No fishy taste, no fishy aftertaste. Just the flavor of lime sorbet. It is also pretty thick. Almost like taking a yogurt shot, but I can tell a difference in my eyesight. Things are getting clearer. For a member of Melaleuca, the Omega-3 liquid is roughly $18 for a bottle. There are clear dosages printed on the package for adults, kids and itty bitties, and it also needs to be refrigerated. Each adult dose gives you 1,080 mg of EPA/DHA Omega-3s. I was skeptical about trying it because I didn’t want to deal with paying that much for something only to have fishy breath, but there is none. I do get a little reflux from the lime, but that’s just me.
Since I am taking two new vitamins, one being a multi, I’m no longer taking the vitamins I was taking. You can have too much of a good thing, especially if there’s iron involved. From this point on, until further notice, I’ll be taking these two vitamins and these two only. Source of Life has a ton of good for you stuff in it, so these two are about all I’ll need.
I know this was a long post, but it was needed, and I wanted to share my good news of weight loss! I also had a job interview yesterday, and that’s why I didn’t post on Monday or Tuesday. I was gearing up for that. I think it went well, but they have other applicants and told me they’d contact me within two weeks. Tonight’s supper is tacos and loaded pork nachos, and today I’m taking the opportunity to get my taxes done. Stay healthy, my friends, and if you’d like me to write a post specifically about Melaleuca, let me know!
