Good morning, my sweet friends! I told you I’d write a post about Melaleuca this week, and here it is! It’s going to be a bit of a read, so grab some coffee and a snack and let’s get started.
What is it? You may be asking what exactly Melaleuca is. Well, it’s a wellness company. It started back in the 80s and it focuses on overall wellness and eco-friendly cleaning supplies. They have a large range of products from vitamins and snacks to cleaning supplies, beauty products, bath and body products, and essential oils.
How does it work? Melaleuca works on a membership basis. Once you are signed up, you have to purchase a minimum of 35 points worth of products every month. That can get a little pricey sometimes, but when you purchase items, you also earn what’s called Loyalty Shopping Dollars. You can purchase items with Loyalty Shopping Dollars, but you lose the points that come with the item. You’re still getting the item for free, though, so if you play your cards right, you can get some pricey stuff for free. Every month they have some specials and coupons to help you out, so that’s a plus, and you do have to renew your membership every year. One thing they have now is a Melaleuca Visa credit card. You can earn a percentage of Loyalty Shopping Dollars back by using that card. So, it’s like getting cash back, but it’s Melaleuca money that you can use towards your monthly purchases. I don’t have that card, but when I get a job, I will definitely look into getting that.
Do I have to sell it? Nope! Melaleuca doesn’t put pressure on you at all to sell their products. You can make a business out of it, but it’s not required. My parents enrolled for Melaleuca under my sister, so when they make their monthly order, she gets a little percentage of what they bought.
What are the benefits? Well, from personal experience, I feel like I’m helping the environment a little more. Melaleuca’s cleaning products are so safe that they don’t even use childproof caps. One of my nieces dipped her sippy cup in the mop water one time when her mom had turned her back to deal with another kiddo, and when my sister called the poison control hotline, they were like, “She’ll be fine.” Another benefit is that I’m not buying laundry detergent every week. I get it once a month, and It usually lasts a little bit longer than that! Their stuff is super concentrated, so it uses less product to get the job done.
Anything you don’t like about it? It’d be nice if the prices were a little lower, but I kind of understand. You get what you pay for. My parents are not fans of their mouthwash or toothpaste. I haven’t tried the toothpaste, but I didn’t care for the mouthwash either. I’m also very sensitive to Niacin, and their vitamins are too strong for my little system. I love their vitamins, but they’re just too strong for me personally. I also think that their toilet cleaner bottle could use a redesign. Yeah. It needs a little help. Also, I’m a person that likes antibacterial soap. Melaleuca currently has two scents of their antibacterial hand soap. Mint and Herb is one and Pomegranate Sage is the other one, I think. I love the Mint one, but don’t care for the Pomegranate. It’s too sweet for me. I’d love to see more scent options for their antibacterial hand soap. They have a lot of hand soap, just not antibacterial. Oh! Their deodorant. They have a couple of options there. I tried the Herbal one, and it does okay overnight, but I don’t care to use it as a long-term solution. It smells great, but my sweaty little armpits made mincemeat out of it. In other words, I was a little stinky after a while. I normally use clinical strength deodorant, though, so maybe it’d work on someone with normal amounts of sweat. It just didn’t work for me.
Can I check the site out? Absolutely! You can check their Product Store out by going to http://www.melaleuca.com/ps . By clicking on that link, it’ll take you right to the store. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to see prices, but you can at least look at the range of products that they have.
What if I sign up and then don’t care for their stuff? Well, if you’ve tried their stuff and decide you don’t want to keep your membership, just cancel it! I’ve been very happy with most of their products. Anything I haven’t cared for has been more of a personal opinion than the product not really working (other than the herbal deodorant, but again, I have really sweaty armpits), but from what I understand, the cancelling of a membership is fairly easy.
I know that this has been a long post, but I hope this has helped you understand Melaleuca a little bit. I also hope that you’ll give it a looksy, and maybe even a tryout! I can’t think of any other things to say about Melaleuca–oh, except I do enjoy their essential oils. Those are nice.
I hope you have a wonderful day, and as always, stay healthy my friends!
