Well, this week’s magic number is in- 189.6. I know. A gain, but earlier this week I was at the doctor and registered 191 there, so I’ll take it! My weight has really been wonky lately, and I’ve had major hot flashes, so I went to my doctor for a checkup. He had me get some bloodwork done yesterday, and now I wait for the results.
I’ll admit that my eating habits have been awful. We eat out a lot now, but I do try to make a healthy choice, or a healthier option when we do go out. The other day I had a salad and it was absolutely delicious. Loads of dark greens, cucumber, tomato, and marinated chicken.
The concern is my blood sugar. Diabetes runs in the family, so my doctor is monitoring me closely for that. My ideal weight is 130, so I have some losing to do.
My caregivee is doing okay. Battling some depression and general feelings of woe and self-pity, but I would imagine that’s to be expected. They are advancing in their therapy, though, and two new exercises have been added. The end of July was supposed to be their endpoint for therapy, but due to slow recovery, I’m thinking that October will probably be the new date. Next week is a checkup with the surgeon, so we’ll see how that goes.
Meanwhile, I’m trying to keep the household going, the bills paid, and the laundry clean. I have four cardboard boxes of mail that needs to be shredded. 😱 I also am working on a baby blanket for another couple at church who are expecting a baby. I told them I’m making it, but that it may not be finished by November which is when the little one is due. Baby steps, though. I’ve been up since 5 this morning, and I’ve already finished 2 cups of coffee, started two loads of laundry, made and ate breakfast, and now I’m writing this.
Hopefully, next week’s post will provide better weight numbers and some answers to what’s going on with my health. I’d also like to give a good update on my caregivee. Until next time, stay healthy my friends! 🤗
