Good morning, my friends! It’s been an early start for me today. I woke up around 4:45 this morning to my neighbor’s dog barking. I also heard people chatting, so I’m thinking their kids were getting ready to walk to the bus stop. 😶 I know! That’s super early, but I live in a rural area, and the buses have quite a journey to make to get to the schools in this district.
I weighed myself around 6 something this morning, and my weight is 193.6. I know. A one pound gain, and it’s entirely my fault. I got a little happy with junk food this past week. I tried to get the flower bed ready, but ended up hurting my back in the process, so that isn’t finished. I’m gonna get it done, though! I refuse to give up simply because things aren’t happening as I want them to happen. The same goes for my weight.
My caregivee has progressed to where they can take their own blood sugar now! Movement in their right hand is getting better, and the hand therapists are encouraged at the progress. Today is a checkup with the surgeon. 😐 I’m not really a fan of him. He may be the best orthopedic surgeon in this area, but his diet suggestions are ridiculous. He encouraged my caregivee to use saccharine and aspartame instead of sugar. 😱 👈🏻 That’s the face I was making in my head when he said that.
My caregivee has been battling some depression the last week. They’re very overwhelmed, but I keep pointing out the progress made so far. As for me, well……..I’m going to keep working on saying no to cupcakes and choosing healthier snack options. There’s nothing wrong with a cupcake every once in a while, but I don’t need to buy a 6-pack of them at the store.
That’s my update for this week, folks! I have a busy day ahead of me with appointments, paying bills, and other mundane chores that I’ve either forgotten or didn’t have time for last week. Until next time, stay healthy my friends! 🤗
