Happy Saturday, my friends! It’s a beautiful sunny morning. This week we’ve been back in the upper 70s and lower 80s. 😶 I guess we had our first false fall.
Last night while I was getting our weekend donuts, my roses and tulips were delivered. Since it was pretty warm in the house, I left them in the trunk of my car overnight, and just finished planting them a few minutes ago.
The rose bushes are smaller than I’d thought, but they seem healthy. I’ll have to purchase more soil to cover the bulbs well, but I’m looking forward to a little oasis. That is, if the cats don’t dig them up. I caught one of them, Thelma, trying to eat a tulip bulb. 🙄
That would be Thelma after I scolded her for trying to eat the bulbs. 😂 That face says everything she’s thinking.
Thelma’s sister, Louise, LuLu for short, thought bulbs were play toys. She wanted to smack them around the yard.
So now the plan is more soil to cover the bulbs, a suet cage and suet for the other side of the shepherd’s crook, bird seed, and saving up for a new bird bath. I’m also tempted to get a couple of butterfly bushes to put on the outer edges of the flower bed. Going left to right, it would be butterfly bush, rose bush, tulips, bird feeder and bird bath, tulips, rose bush, and butterfly bush.
In other news, I’ve lost 3.2 pounds! I’m getting close to that 170 marker, thank God! I know I said earlier that I bought donuts, but we only have them on the weekend. I get six donuts, usually on Friday. We have one Friday night, one for breakfast on Saturday and one for breakfast on Sunday. It satisfies the sweet tooth, and it’s something to look forward to. I try to adjust what I eat accordingly so I can enjoy the donut without worrying about the calories.
Well, that’s my update for today. I have a lot to do and only a few hours to get it all done. Love you all and until next time, stay healthy my friends!❤️
