Sock Drama

Today’s Bible Reading- Leviticus Chapters 1-3 & Matthew Chapter 24 Verses 23-51.

Good morning friends! It’s a chilly but sunny day here today. I woke up about 5:30 this morning and took my medication, but went back to sleep. About an hour later, I woke up again and decided to just stay up. Since Pop is here now, and we are essentially down to one bathroom (the toilet drama continues), I went ahead and got my shower. Good thing, too. I was just finishing getting dressed and Pop got up followed closely by Mom. By eight ‘o’ clock, I had a load of laundry in, breakfast eaten, coffee drank, and I moved my Bible reading station back to my room.

Gracie is a bit wobbly today. She’s chilling in a heat pocket under my bed.

Well, folks, as the title implies, the sock has created more drama for me. I got to the leg portion and had started it up, but the sock was so wonky on one side that I ended up having to rip out the entire thing and start over. 😖. Frustrating is a gigantic understatement. I don’t know where I went wrong. Is it possible the pattern itself was wrong? I don’t know. I followed the directions precisely as they were written. In my frustration, I decided to look for another sock pattern, just in case the pattern itself was wrong. I ended up finding a crochet pattern for toe up socks! How fortuitous! Maybe crocheting will work better. So far I have the toe portion done and am working on the foot. We shall see how this ends up. I’m determined to make socks this year, though. It may take a while, but it will happen!

If you’re reading the Bible along with me, today starts one of the most uncomfortable books. Leviticus. It’s a book of law, so it’s describing the system that God put in place for Israel to follow. Jesus fulfilled the law, so that is why we no longer need the sacrifices, but modern culture doesn’t really understand the culture that was around millennia ago. If you’d like a more in depth look at this book, and maybe a better explanation, may I suggest Gilbert House Fellowship? Derek and Sharon Gilbert are well educated in the original text and understanding the culture of that time, and they do a phenomenal job explaining. I haven’t heard their Old Testament unpacking, but if they do what they do regarding the book of Revelation, then it’s awesome and easy to understand. Click here to visit their site!

Today is a busy day. Laundry, Mom has a doctor appointment, and I’m making chili dogs for supper. I love a good chili dog.

That’s my update for today! Love you all and until next time, stay safe my friends.❤️
