A Case of the Grumpies

Today’s Bible Reading- Numbers Chapters 1-2 & Mark Chapter 3 Verses 1-21.

Good evening, my friends. It’s been a long day. As you can tell by the title, I was a Class A Grump today. The Grinch had nothing on me. Why was I grumpy? I have no idea. I woke up grumpy. I had a good sleep. No nightmares or night terrors. For some reason, though, I was just in a sour mood.

I did manage to get the groceries ordered and picked up. I really do miss going in the grocery store, but for me it’s not worth wearing the mask only to have a panic attack. If I don’t wear the mask, I risk getting a $25-50 ticket. So until this mess is over or Jesus comes back, Instacart is my friend.

I finished my sock, and to my dismay, it is too small for my foot. 😭. I so wanted to wear my own homemade sock, but it just didn’t work out. It’s a pretty pattern in the yarn, though.

I found out that the pattern I was using is an intermediate crochet pattern, so I browsed the inter webs and found one that’s an easier level. I’ve already started on the new sock, and when I finish what’s left of the skein, I’ll tear out this first sock and use the yarn. No sense in letting it go to waste.

Pop grilled the hamburgers on the grill tonight, and they were pretty good. I started feeling unwell, though, and couldn’t finish my plate. Earlier this afternoon, I was eating a pecan pinwheel, and my left ear suddenly popped like it does when I go to the mountains, and a bunch of clear liquid started draining out and down my face. So maybe I have the beginnings of an ear infection? I don’t know. I’ll keep an eye out. Ear infections were a common thing for me as a kid. Had my parents bought stock in amoxicillin, we’d probably be millionaires. 😆

In other news, it was partly sunny but cold today. Thankfully, I didn’t have the headache I had yesterday. Gracie is doing good. She’s currently hanging out with me here in the living room. She’s in the chair and I’m on the floor in front of the heater.

The neighborhood smells like wood burning. There are a lot of wood burning stoves and fireplaces in my area. There’s also a lot of kerosene heaters, but we don’t have those. I love the smell of wood burning, though. I remember going camping as a kid and when we got home I never wanted to wash my clothes because of the smell of campfire. I’d love to have a wood burning cook stove someday, but for now I can dream.

This week I’ll be trying something new in my life. Oat milk creamer. This particular one is supposed to taste like an oatmeal cookie. I hope it does. That would make my coffee extra spectacular.

Well, folks. That’s all for now. I’m tired and I’m still battling the grumpies.

Love you all and until next time, stay safe my friends.❤️
