Birthdays

Today’s Bible Reading- Joshua Chapters 7-8 & Luke Chapter 2 Verses 22-52.

Good morning, friends. I hope you’re having a good day so far. We’ll be in the 70s today with some sunshine. More towards the lower 70s, but I’ll take it!

Today is a bit of a busy day. Mom has asked me to take her out and get some things she needs to finish one of my nephews’ birthday box. When the kids were younger, Mom would send them basically a party in a box. Wrapped gifts, a box of cake mix in their favorite flavor, some frosting, candles, and even plates, napkins, forks and cups. As my sister and her husband seem to continually add to their brood, it’s gotten a wee bit expensive, so now it’s just some wrapped presents and a card.

Birthday boxes are a great way to celebrate someone’s birthday if you’re not able to be with them. Also, if someone has a birthday coming up but maybe can’t afford to celebrate, it’s a great way for them to celebrate thanks to you! Birthdays are worth celebrating. I’m a bit cautious about celebrating my birthday this year, though. The last few years have always had something happen on my birthday that resulted in no celebration at all. I won’t go into detail but my 30th birthday had some big celebration intentions, but ended up in me spending the entire day driving to another state. Literally. I had a 12-hour drive on my 30th birthday. To say I was mad was an understatement. Just thinking about it makes me mad. I’ve tried very hard to let go, but sometimes I need to rage a little.

Moving on. I don’t know if I’ll get much done in the garden today since Mom wants to work on birthday stuff for my nephew, but I hope to start turning the soil soon. We’re looking at a potential freeze within the next couple of weeks, and then that’ll probably be our last frost.

I didn’t get my laundry done yesterday, either, so I’ve already started on that. I also need to wash my hair, feed the cats and just get my chunky little bum around.

That’s all for now, folks. Love you all and until next time, stay safe my friends. ❤
