Today’s Bible Reading- Joshua Chapters 14-15 & Luke Chapter 4 Verses 31-44.
Good morning, friends! So far today we’ve had a rain storm and now it’s sunny outside. Our high is supposed to be 80 degrees with thunderstorms.
Yesterday I spent what I thought was a good couple of hours in the garden, but in reality was only an hour. It was good, solid work though. I ended up getting on my hands and knees and was digging up the ground to prepare it for planting. I was able to get two rows done and started on the third row when my body said enough. I’ll tell you one thing, though. I’m starting to get little Popeye forearms! 🤣
Seriously, though, it was good to get outside and in the dirt. I’m leaving some space between each row so I can walk and not smoosh the plants. I had hoped to get more work done yesterday, but it started to rain. Truthfully, I’m surprised it’s sunny right now. We’re supposed to get some pretty nasty storms throughout the next few days.
Gracie had a good day yesterday. God sustained her once again and she had a wonderful appetite. She was up all night doing who knows what and is now napping on my bed.
Last night’s supper was a switcheroo. I was supposed to make pancakes and sausage and scrambled eggs, but ended up grilling chili dogs. They were so good. Pop gave me some tips on getting the fire hot enough in the grill and it’s helped tremendously. Grilling is not one of my specialties. Baking is, though. I used to be able to make some pretty tasty desserts. One thing I’d love to do someday is make some cinnamon rolls, but before I put them in the oven, I’d like to put some baklava sauce on them. I’d like to use baklava filling in them as well. 😍 Can you imagine how delicious they would be?
I have yet to make my menu for next week. The gardening really did me in yesterday. We have a tiller (I didn’t know until this week) but it’s broken at the moment. I could research and maybe order what’s needed and figure out how to fix it. Until then, though, I’ll have to make do like they did back in the day. Good old fashioned hard work with my hands. I’m glad I bought that extra dozen of eggs. The farm eggs that I hard-boiled? They were bad. How do I know? I ate one yesterday for breakfast. I couldn’t smell it because of my allergies, but Mom came in and was like, whoa! It smells awful in here! I could taste some of the sulfur, but I figured it was just the way it’s supposed to be.
I think there may be one more chili dog left from last night, so I may snag that for my lunch today. I have a meeting to attend tonight, so I’ll be making supper early.
Well, that’s my update for today, folks. It’s starting to cloud up, and I am in need of some lunch. Love you all and until next time, stay safe my friends. ❤
