Easter Sunday

Today’s Bible Reading- Judges Chapters 10-11 & Luke Chapter 9 Verses 1-36.

Happy Easter, my friends! What a beautiful day to celebrate Jesus’s resurrection! The sun is shining and we are expecting temps in the lower 70s today.

I actually thought I’d written yesterday, so I didn’t check, but this morning I had a check in my spirit to make sure I’d written. Alas, my mind failed me. I’m sorry. I was pretty stressed out yesterday. I had really wanted to get the garden going but it was just too cold. I needed to do something, though, so I ended up spending the day making Easter dinner.

It all started with me making the Jell-O salad so it could blend the flavors overnight, but then it escalated to the whole shebang. On the bright side, I don’t have to cook today! There is no downside to this. Our meal today will be applewood smoked ham, scalloped potatoes, sweet potato casserole, baked beans, yeast rolls, and carrot cake for dessert. Oh! And Jell-o salad. We can’t forget the family tradition! If you’d like to know how to make Jell-O salad, here’s the recipe.

Jell-O Salad
8 oz tub of Cool Whip
8 oz container of sour cream
6 oz Lime Jell-O gelatin mix

Mix all the ingredients together, making sure they are well incorporated. Cover and chill for at least 2 hours.

It’s delicious. Trust me. I’d like to try other flavors, but Mom won’t do it. It’s a special dish reserved only for holidays and birthday requests.

Well, I hope y’all have the best Easter today, and I hope you’ll find a church or a church service to celebrate Christ’s resurrection with other people. We’ll be watching a service online today from a church my parents went to a long time ago. If you’d like to join us, the service starts at 10:30 am EST. Click here to go to the YouTube stream. I will give you fair warning, the people are very traditional, but they have a heart for Jesus. Well, most of them do. There’s a few jerks in there, but God loves them too. I love their pastor, Pastor Ellison. I can’t remember his first name. He’s hilarious. Either way, you’ll get to experience what I grew up with. Should you miss the service, no worries! The stream will be left as an upload to their YouTube channel. I’ll also warn you that this is not some megachurch style service. No flashy lights, no rock music. Just simple worship of our Savior Jesus Christ.

That’s all for now! I have a shower to take and cats to feed. Love you all and until next time, stay safe my friends. ❤
