Lack of Sleep Makes for a Scrambled Brain

Today’s Bible Reading- 1 Samuel Chapters 23-25 & Luke Chapter 16 Verses 1-18.

Happy Dusk, my friends! It’s been a quiet day, but to be honest with you, writing was the last thing on my mind today.

Gracie slept through the night last night, thank God. She’s been resting a lot today, too. I think the medicine makes her sleepy, and she’s starting to relax knowing that she’s home. No messes to clean up today, either, so that’s a plus!

I worked on the sock today. I was so tired from the lack of sleep the night before last that I was worthless. I did get Mom’s sheets changed, but that’s about it. The sock is really taking shape now, though.

Our weather was a bit chilly today. I think we made it to the upper 60s today, but it was a beautiful sunny day. That’s about all I have for y’all today. I was so tired I didn’t think I could drive safely on the road, so I didn’t even get our weekly takeout. Thank God for frozen pizza!

Since Gracie slept through the night last night, I may try to sleep in my own bed tonight. I think for general safety it’s probably the best thing to do. I’ve been sleeping in a chair in the living room to make sure Gracie is okay during the night. That first night, she just stayed up all night and cried. Last night she was trying to shake off her e-collar, but she ended up settling down and slept until about 4:30 this morning. She’s spent the better part of today sleeping, but we also were able to get her third prescription down her today. One medicine is an antibiotic, another is a controlled substance for pain (I believe it’s in the morphine family), and the third is gabapentin. That last one we couldn’t get down her yesterday, but I got a dose in her today. I think it helped tremendously.

Currently, Gracie is sleeping and stretched out. She’ll be getting her final meds for the day in about 45 minutes. Once she gets those in and I give her a treat, I’ll scoop her litter box, refill her water and then I’ll probably start heading to bed myself. I’m so tired.

That’s all for now, folks. I’m exhausted and can’t stop yawning. Love you all and until next time, stay safe my friends. ❤
