Is Second Winter Over?

Today’s Bible Reading- 2 Kings Chapters 8-10 & John Chapter 5 Verses 1-24.

Good morning, my friends. It’s been a bit chilly this morning! Currently, it’s 49 degrees out, but our high is expected to be 72 today. It’s also supposed to be sunny as well. That’s a plus.🥳

Gracie is a bit puny today. She had a rough day yesterday. Mom and I continue to pray for her and I would ask that you’d help us pray she gets better and gains some weight. I believe what happened is that her dry food, which I’ve kept in the fridge to keep it fresh, went bad, but my nose didn’t catch it. So, I think it made her a bit sick. Not cool on top of recovering from major surgery, you know? She did eat some fresh food this morning and she’s drinking water. Currently, she’s laying next to me in her little bed.

Today is a busy day. I have some errands to run on top of the normal things. The groceries are already in, so that’s a plus. I bought some bulk meat and divvied it up in freezer bags. There’s three meals of chicken, six meals of ground beef and two meals of sausage. The store also had my favorite brand of seasoning blends as a buy one get one free sale, so I ended up paying close to a dollar for each bottle. I bought six bottles of seating blends. I also spent a ton of time in the produce department. I got cucumber, zucchini, an apple, jicama, cherries, onion, tomatoes, potatoes, watermelon. All on sale! Except for the jicama. What I do with that is I rinse it, peel it, and then I do a medium dice on it. I do the same with the apple, and then I toss it together and sprinkle lime or lemon juice. Mom really enjoys it. I tried it once with jicama and pear, but it was awful. My dad hated it.

I also bought some flour and yeast to make our own bread. Bread now is so full of preservatives. I think going back to the basics will help us out in the long run. Today, I’ll probably pull out the cookbook and look for some good bread or roll recipes. First, though, I need to shower and dress and feed the cats. I also need to balance the bank accounts, and I need to get some things ordered for pickup.

I have an interview this weekend some time. The details haven’t been worked out yet, but I’ll be chatting with some fellow Republicans up in Maine and encouraging them. Prayers that things go well would be appreciated.

That’s all for now, folks. Love you all and until next time, stay safe my friends. ❤️
