Today’s Bible Reading- Ezra Chapters 3-5 & John Chapter 20.
Good morning, my friends. I hope you had a lovely weekend. We finally got some rain on Saturday! It was quite the storm, too. Actually, a couple of storms rolled through our area. The garden was very happy. How do I know this? I saw the cucumber plants. Y’all. I think it was last year that I accidentally bought the indeterminate tomato plant, and it just kept getting taller and taller. It was overwhelming. This year, the cucumber plants have taken over half of my bed. Seriously. They’re hogging a good half of the bed, and the zucchini plant is challenging them for the other half. The pea is stuck in the middle.
Currently, it’s 69 degrees (I’m on my computer, so I don’t know how to make the degrees mark), but we’re expecting a high of 91 today with a 40% chance of rain. If it gets humid, we may get a little popup storm.
To add to the gardening, I’ve now made a DIY compost bin. I took an old black trash can with a lid that I’d used to haul grass clippings, and I’m using it for a hot compost bin. See, I put it in the sunshine, and it’ll absorb the heat because of its color, and then the can will get hot and the compost will compost. That’s my logic, anyways.
I’m a little out of sorts at the moment because I got a good night’s sleep, but I slept in which means I have to wait for coffee. Therefore, my friends, I am attempting to write this without coffee in my system.
I do have some cool things to look forward to this week. My best friend is coming to visit for the weekend. Her parents are going to watch her two daughters while she comes down here. Finances are tight for both of us this week, so it’ll probably just be chitter chatter and window shopping.
Gracie is doing okay today. She’s bright-eyed and vocal, but I have a sneaking suspicion that she’s working on another hairball. She’s got that look. Since it’s going to be so hot out today, I’ll keep the front door closed and will put a bowl of fresh water out in the living room for her to drink if she heads that way. It’s not a day to go outside, folks.
Well, I have yet to read my Bible, but I still have a good half hour before I can have coffee. I think I’ll check my laundry that’s hanging to dry and check the laundry in the dryer. I’ve already made my bed. I do plan on making a trip to town today to get a couple of tomatoes and maybe some bread. I think we’ll have BLTs for supper.
Love you all and until next time, stay safe my friends. ❤
