Morning Chatter

Today’s Bible Reading- Ezra Chapters 6-10 & John Chapter 21.

Good morning. my friends. I hope you’re doing well. I’m relishing my first cup of coffee for the day, and Gracie is curled up on my bed for her morning nap.

It’s going to be another hot one today! Our high is predicted to be 90 degrees with a 10% chance of rain. Thank God that tonight’s supper can be made in the pressure cooker! Last night’s supper was BLTs, and they were delicious! It was way too hot in the kitchen to cook, so my dad cooked the bacon on the grill. It was so good. It takes a lot of watching and handling, but the end result was delicious! I will definitely go back to that farm for some bacon.

It tried to rain here yesterday afternoon while the bacon was cooking. The clouds darkened and the thunder rolled, but no rain came.

Tonight I’m going to make pinto and cranberry beans in the pressure cooker. I’ll add some onion, zucchini and peppers with some taco seasoning and we’ll put all that on some corn tostada shells. One of the places we went last Saturday had some habanero peach salsa and I bought some. It’s delicious. Delicious enough that less than half the jar is left. I love it. Put it on some tortilla chips and you have a crunchy, salty, spicy and sweet snack.

I did start on the second sock. I haven’t worked on it much, though. I’m kind of gearing up for my best friend’s visit. She’s excited, I’m excited. We haven’t seen each other in a few years. Since she’ll only be here for the weekend, I’ll probably take her to the lake where we can chill and chat. I may take her to the local chocolatier, though. They have the cutest shop. I’m trying to remember is she likes chocolate or not. She used to be obsessed with it. People can change over time, though. I used to be a huge fan of Reese’s cups, but then I started getting hives on my mouth when I ate them. In their defense (sort of), the hives presented after I’d been on a non-GMO diet for a good while, and Reese’s does contain some GMO ingredients. At least, the package I had said it did. I still like the peanut butter and chocolate combination, but I avoid Reese’s. It’s hardest around Halloween. If I can find non-GMO peanut butter cups, then I will keep that company in business!

Well, I have yet to read my Bible today, folks, and that’s the most important part of the day. The world is getting crazy out there, but the Word of God never changes. We can rest in God’s promise that He’s in charge and nothing gets past Him without His allowance of it. Love you all and until next time, stay safe my friends.<3
