Today’s Bible Reading- Job Chapters 27-29 & Acts Chapter 12.
Good morning, my friends. I hope you’re well. It’s going to be 89° here today with no rain.
Yesterday was a good day. We just chilled, grilled hot dogs and I heated up some chili to put on the hot dogs. We had chips, watermelon, cantaloupe, and ice cream sandwiches. Mom and I were going to go see fireworks, but we were both just too tired. Thankfully, neighbors were doing fireworks, so I fell asleep to that.
Now on Saturday, I did some heavy duty gardening. I cleaned up all the higher grass, pulled the pea trellis out, harvested the potatoes—which I got close to 5 lbs—and I laid down another tarp. Then, I made two small mounds of dirt and planted my pumpkin seeds. So now, my big garden portion is just pumpkins and onions. The other garden portion is cucumbers and zucchini.
Today is a bit chill. Mom and I were thinking about checking out a potential fishing hole. It’s probably about 45 minutes from the house, but hey, I’m willing to take a drive and check it out. It’s one of the few fishing spots that has few advisories on fish due to mercury and other toxins. I think it’s nice that our local health department has an app to help you locate fishing spots with little to no advisories. I had thought about going fishing by using the fishing calendar from the Old Farmer’s Almanac, but the next best fishing day on there is the 23rd of July. Pop won’t be here then. He’s coming home this week to prepare for his new job. It’s about halfway between us and Gram, so that’ll be nice. Maybe we can go visit or something.
Supper tonight will be potatoes, green beans and bacon. The potatoes are from the garden, and if that one or two I’ve already tasted are any indicators, then they will be delicious! I’m also going to make cornbread. This meal was a staple at my kindergarten, and I absolutely love it! The kindergarten used ham hocks, though, which I don’t have. I usually use a ham steak and cube it up, but I have a half pound of bacon that needs used up. 😁
Well, that’s my update, folks. I have coffee to make and my Bible to read. Mom and I just started watching videos on YouTube with Chuck Missler. We went through Genesis with him, and now we are going through Revelation. He’s an excellent teacher. I highly recommend him. He passed a coup,e of years ago, I think, but his teachings are still available.
Okay, that’s all for now. Love you all and until next time, stay safe my friends. ❤️
