Today’s Bible Reading- Psalm Chapters 19-21 & Acts Chapter 19 Verses 21-41.
Good morning, my friends. I hope you’re well. It’s going to be a hot and humid day today. Our high is expected to reach 91* with a 40% chance of rain this afternoon. It’s only 79* right now, but our humidity is already 85%.
This morning I feel very pressured. Almost to the point of having a headache. I don’t know why I feel pressured, but I do. I’m very stressed out. I drank about half of my first cup of coffee this morning and then a fly decided to join. That was delightful (sarcasm there). When I went to feed the cats, only two were out there, and I looked for the third with no luck. I made two bowls, but as soon as I reached the door, I saw the third one. Where Stubby was, I have no clue, but he appeared. I had to readjust the food for everyone and add a third bowl. Then, Thelma wouldn’t eat. She wouldn’t get off my car and she kept looking behind me. I wondered why so I turned. Here’s where my confusion is……..
My neighbor’s dog, the neighbor who we had a welfare check on and the cops sent the dog to the shelter. He’s back and he’s roaming the neighborhood. Now, why the heck is that happening? The neighbor’s truck isn’t there. The dog was getting fed and taken care of, so why is he back? The neighbor said he would be gone about a month, and yet I saw him yesterday. I’m so confused now. So confused. The neighbor would have had to go and get the dog. I don’t think they would have released him back into the neighborhood knowing the neighbor’s mental health. It just doesn’t make sense. I’ve got to leave that one alone. It’ll drive me nuts.
Moving on. I did manage to get all the cardboard out yesterday. Filled my trunk and part of my backseat up! There’s a lot more space to walk around, though, and the more I think about it, the more inclined I am to use the contractor’s paper and the wood chips from the wood chip app. I think it’s called ‘Chip Drop’. Don’t quote me on that, but the essentials I remember are that you sign up and they’ll pair you up with a local tree service that needs to offload some wood chips. They drop it in your driveway and it doesn’t cost anything. Free wood chips, but you have to move them from your driveway yourself. Also, from what I understand, the chip drop isn’t always the same day. It could be weeks before you get them, so you have to be pretty flexible about it.
I thought about signing up and putting in a request for them now, so that I could put some of the chips around the trees and in the flower beds. I could also lay down some of the contractor’s paper over the current garden and make a slit for the pumpkin sprout. Then the pumpkins would have a fairly easy way to grow without the worry of the weeds. Maybe I’ll try that instead of spending half the day using hedge clippers to clip the grass down in the whole garden.
Speaking of the garden, I harvested two onions from it yesterday! I used them in last night’s supper, which was a sausage hash again. I also had some zucchini I remembered putting in the freezer, and I used some more of my potatoes. It was so good. So good. Mom and I ate that hash like it was going out of style. It was just enough for the two of us, but man it was so good. Those potatoes tasted like butter! The onions had good flavor, the zucchini added flavor. It was just delicious. Mom has already requested Yukon potatoes for next year’s garden. I will definitely do that. Going with the no dig garden, I may end up with a bigger size of potato, too. I hope so. From now until the first week of August, I’ll be harvesting onions as they are ready. I missed one and it’s gone squishy, but the two I picked yesterday were just right.
So today’s goals will probably be a small grocery run, pick up some contractor’s paper at Lowe’s, and maybe sign up for the Chip Drop app. Who knows, maybe I’ll put in a request for a load!
That’s all I have for now, folks. I have a lot to do and the morning is almost over already. I also keep thinking it’s Thursday for some reason. Have no clue why. Anyways. Love you all and until next time, stay safe my friends. ❤
