Today’s Bible Reading- Psalm Chapters 31-35 & Acts Chapter 21 Verse 17- Chapter 22 Verse 30.
Good morning, my friends. I hope you’re well today. It’s a bit cloudy this morning, but the sun is trying to peek through. Our high is expected to be 86° today with a 20% chance of rain. Currently, it’s a chill 69°.
Friends, if I had one word to describe yesterday, it would be wacky. Last week we had three cops and a paramedic looking for our neighbor who was potentially suicidal. Thank God he was in a safe place. Yesterday we had at least six fire trucks and probably 10 or more volunteer firefighter cars on our street.
So, what happened was……..I had finished baking cookies and was chilling in my room for a bit eating some pizza. I had my headphones on and was watching one of my favorite YouTubers, and I happened to hear what sounded like a fire truck. Since this particular video was the YouTuber talking in his home, I thought it was on the video. A few moments later, I hear another one. At this point, I’m thinking,Wow, I wonder what’s going on in this guy’s neighborhood!
Enter Mom. She comes in and is like, Lizzi, did you hear that noise? Now my brain kicks in and I’m like crap, it’s our neighborhood, not the video! So I got up and went to look outside. Lo and behold, there’s two fire trucks in front of my next door neighbor’s house (the lady with all the cats), and there’s smoke pouring out of her house. Then more volunteer firefighters show up and park at the edge of our yard. Then another two or three fire trucks show up, and one was trying to get clearance between two cars to get to the house that’s burning, and it crunches into one of the cars.
Y’all. I can’t even make this stuff up. I go outside to make sure the neighbor is okay. She’s good. Sounds like it was an electrical fault in her kitchen, but she lost two of her cats, and the house is totaled. This is just a couple or few weeks after a tree fell on her roof. I’m wondering if the tree falling actually started something and it just smoldered until it just decided to catch fire. That’s pure speculation on my part.
Our neighbor is a bit like us. She keeps to herself, so I don’t know if she’ll ask for help with anything, but if you think about it, please pray for her, and that she’ll be able to deal with insurance quickly.
So back to this car getting swiped. Highway patrol ended up showing up for that, and I kid you not. The second I saw the officer, I was thinking a young Barney Fife. The trooper was so young looking! He looked like he was 12, and he was as skinny as a bean pole. I started cackling in the house. Maybe it was just stress release but it struck me funny.
Anyways. That was yesterday. I can only imagine what today will bring. This neighborhood has been hopping this year!
In all seriousness, I’m glad our neighbor and her granddaughter are okay. No injuries at all. She was pretty broken about her two cats, though. I was concerned that Thelma was over there when it all went down, but she’s okay. She came and hung out on the porch while the firefighters were doing their job. I also thought maybe Bengal was gone, which, if I’m honest, I wasn’t too upset over. He tried to bite my leg the other day because I wouldn’t give him some of my chicken. He’s fine, though. *sigh*. I still have to deal with him. The shelter won’t take him. I asked. Then, I was thinking that maybe the other nuisance, whom I call Lucifer because of how much a nuisance he is, bit the dust. Nope. He’s still around. So, I’m not sure who died, but it wasn’t any of the ones that are irritations. Even the cat I call Hitler made it.
Well, my friends, it’s a new day. I’ve managed to down a cup of coffee while writing this and I still have my Bible to read and cats to feed. I may just go ahead and feed the cats so I can focus on reading my Bible. I’m quite a bit behind schedule. I should have stayed up when I first got up to take my medicine, but I was exhausted. Because of that, I didn’t get up until almost 7:30 this morning. A good hour behind my normal wake up time.
Love you all and until next time, stay safe my friends.❤️
