First Day of Fall

Today’s Bible Reading- Song of Solomon Chapters 1-5 & 2 Corinthians Chapters 12-13.

Happy official First Day of Fall, my friends! I hope you’re well. I couldn’t ask more a more fallish day than today. Foggy, overcast, drizzly and a bit chilly. Our high today, I believe, will be about 77* with a 60% chance of rain.

I plan on decorating for fall today. I’m going to take down the flag we have hanging on the front door and replace it with our fall wreath. I’ll make sure to fold the flag properly and display it somewhere, though. Gotta keep the patriotic spirit going in this house!

Mom is on her colon cleanse today, so I’ll be cooking for one today. I need to get her gelatin made, too. That way she has something to munch on.

Gracie ate her breakfast and is curled up on my bed for her morning snooze.

The cucumber plant is doing fantastic! Bunches of new flowers and a couple of baby cukes on there! We’re expecting a cold snap in the next couple of nights, so I may lose them, but I hope not. Fresh cucumbers from the garden are so delicious!

Last night I made a very impulsive buy. I bought stuff to make a dozen trick-or-treat bags. Last year I didn’t participate in trick-or-treating, but no one came down the street either. The year before last I didn’t have one person. Not one, and I had a huge bowl of candy ready. This year, though, I’m going to make a dozen bags and see if anyone shows up. I’ll have to look up some cute pumpkin carving templates, too. I like cute ones, not creepy ones. One year, I made one that looked like the traditional “Mom” tattoo. It was adorable. I’ve also done owls and cats. I think one year I had one that had a cartoonish ghost on it and the other pumpkin said ‘Boo!’ Either way, I’ll have something ready this year. I’m not sure I can squeeze into my bumblebee costume again. We’ll see.

That’s all for now, folks. I have some laundry to do, Jell-O to make, and a rat’s nest of yarn to deal with. Love you all and until next time, stay safe my friends. ❤
