La Palma

Today’s Bible Reading- Isaiah Chapters 10-12 & Galatians Chapters 5-6.

Good morning, my friends. I hope you’re well. It’s sunny and 59° right now, but we’re expecting a high of 84° today to go with that sunshine.

The cucumber plant is still alive and I have a baby cuke on there! I’m not sure how long it will survive, but I’m going to let it do its thing. I’ll probably water it this morning since we haven’t had rain in a little while.

I made some progress on the sock yesterday. I have a couple of inches more to go before I start working on the heel. It’s been nice to just mindlessly run through this one.

Thelma used the cat house last night. I’d forgotten to lock the car up last night, so when I was coming back into the house from doing that, I thought I saw someone in the car house. I snuck over and peeked inside and it was Thelma! The one I was hoping would use it.

While I’m knitting, I’ve been watching live streams of La Palma volcano. It looks to be inching ever closer to the ocean. I don’t understand Spanish, so I’m not sure what’s being said about it. I did find out about a YouTube channel of a guy that actually lives on the island, though. His channel is called ‘Bushcraft Bear’. He’s been giving updates on what’s going on. For seismology, I wait for updates from Dutchsinse. He does live streams on Twitch, and then uploads them to YouTube.

I think the concern now is the lava hitting the ocean and causing a toxic gas along with glass particles in the air. I’m no volcano expert, though. I’m fascinated by them, but I keep my distance.

There are a few live streams of La Palma on YouTube, if you’re interested. I think the one I have on currently is from the channel ‘afar’. They have a small picture-in-picture that keeps up to date of where the lava flow is and how close it is to the ocean.

Today is Taco Tuesday, so you know what we’re having. I made pasta last night. We were supposed to have green beans, ham and potatoes with cornbread, but we had that on Sunday because I accidentally left the roast out overnight. 🤦🏻‍♀️. We should be back on track, though, now.

I’m also trying to get back into my intermittent fasting. It really seems to help me shed some inches. Not sure about poundage, but squeezing into pants I haven’t worn in a year or two is always nice.

Okay. That’s all I have for today. Mom has an appointment this afternoon and I need to get some more coffee and have my devotions. Love you all and until next time, stay safe my friends.❤️
