A New Week

Today’s Bible Reading- Isaiah Chapters 27-28 & Ephesians Chapter 5.

Good morning, my friends. I hope you’re well. It’s a much more tallish day today. Our high will be around 78° with a 60% chance of rain.

Today is a chill day. I do have to run out and get Mom’s insulin, but other than that, my day will be spent puttering around the house getting small tasks done.

Laundry is a good start for me today. I have a small pile forming, so I need to get that done. I also need to get Gracie’s fountain cleaned. It takes less than 10 minutes to do, so I can put in a load of laundry and then get that cleaned.

I’d also like to check on the cucumber plant. The last time I looked at it, there were lots of flowers and a couple of baby cukes, but they weren’t really growing. It could be that the ground is getting too cold for them to grow. I’m not sure.

Since it’s October, I’m fairly certain that my wood chips will come this month. At least, I hope they do. I’d like to have them sitting and breaking down for a good two or three months before I set up the trellises and t-posts.

Also on my list for today is cleaning my air conditioner filter. Once every few weeks it gets full of dust and Gracie’s hair and I have to clean it out. I noticed the filter light was on this morning, so that’s another chore to add to the list.

Oh! I tried something new yesterday. We were supposed to have grilled pork chops for dinner, and I decided to try out my new charcoal starter. I bought it to use on Thanksgiving, but why not try it out first, yeah? It worked beautifully! The charcoal was ready quickly, and in about 30 minutes, I had dinner plated up.

I’m going to use the charcoal starter to help me get the turkey smoked for Thanksgiving. That is, if I get to make the turkey. That’s a whole other enchilada, but let’s just say that my cooking plans may be thwarted. 😶. It just so happens that the week my sister and her family are shipping out overseas is the same week as Thanksgiving. They want us to come and see them before they head out. We’ll see what happens. If things don’t change, we won’t be able to afford going to see them.

Well, I have a list of things to get done today, and I need to get on them. Love you all and until next time, stay safe my friends.❤️
