Today’s Bible Reading- Isaiah Chapters 29-30 & Ephesians Chapter 6.
Good morning, my friends. I hope you’re well. As the title implies, it’s a rainy day today. It has been pouring since I woke up at 5:30 this morning. I went back to bed for about 30 minutes, but couldn’t sleep any longer.
It’s supposed to rain like this all day today. That’s fine with me. Another cozy day. 😊. Our high is expected to be 75°.
Yesterday was supposed to be productive, but it ended up being a lazy bum day. I should learn by now that Mondays are not days to do a lot. I did watch some interesting videos on YouTube, though. There’s this dude, Ken Johnson, and he has a Th.D. (Doctorate in Theology). He is looking at the Dead Sea Scrolls and translating them. He’s had some fascinating video streams on the Essenes, a religious group from back in the day. He talked a little about their health practices, and they did follow Jewish food traditions, but it seems they also practiced intermittent fasting. That made me think about my fasting journey, and I decided to get back into that habit.
I go with the 12:12 fasting route. I eat during a 12-hour period and then fast 12 hours. So, from 7:00 in the morning until 7:00 in the evening, I eat and get stuff done. After 7:00 in the evening, I stop eating and prepare for bed.
I do have to go out today, though. I kind of don’t want to now, especially since it’s raining so hard, but it needs to be done. People drive so crazy around here when it rains. It’s like they forget how to deal with wet roads. I can understand driving on ice-that’s not something we’re accustomed to-rain, though. Come on. Slow the speed and give extra time to brake. I always reduce my speed by 5mph when the road is wet. Probably by 10mph when it’s icy.
Anyhoo. Tonight’s supper is bean tostadas. I’m going to try using butter beans this time just to see how the flavor is different from pinto beans. I wonder if butter beans will soak up the seasoning more or less.
Oh! My tomato seeds are sprouting! Isn’t that awesome?! I hope they make it through this rain. And my peppermint is up now! 😍. I haven’t smelled it yet, but I love peppermint. Great for upset stomachs.
That’s all I have for now, folks. Love you all and until next time, stay safe my friends.❤️
