Today’s Bible Reading- Isaiah Chapters 62-64 & 1 Thessalonians Chapter 5.
Good morning, my friends. I hope you’re well. It’s a beautiful sunny morning here, and we’re expecting a high of 72° today. 😍
The heater has been kicking on as the temps at night have been dipping in the 40s.
I managed to get quite the work done on the sock yesterday. I knitted while watching Dr. Ken Johnson speak on the Dead Sea Scrolls. It’s fascinating material! Really helps me understand the Bible a bit more.
I covered the tomatoes last night as our low was going to be 41°, but they are doing fantastic! A beautiful dark green color and standing straight and tall in the sunshine. I pray we can get some Roma tomatoes over winter. It’d be a delicious addition to our food.
Early this morning, I woke up for some reason and my mom was standing in my doorway. She asked if I was all right, to which I replied yes. She was feeling very burdened about something or someone and she was trying to figure out who the person was that she needed to be praying for. I looked at the clock and it was 1:47 in the morning. I ended up getting up and taking my thyroid medicine, grabbing my iPad and crawled back in bed.
My intention with grabbing my iPad was to see if there was some breaking news happening. Mom has always had this almost prophetic ability to sense things. Nothing was really happening, so I played a couple of games and then tried to go back to sleep. Ha! Sleep. What is that?
So, a little while later, Gracie comes into my room carrying her gray mouse toy. She’d drop it, bat it around, pick it up and carry it to another part of my room and repeat, at times even pouncing on the toy. I was lying in bed watching her and she was carrying it over towards the bed when I realized something. It was a REAL mouse! Not the toy mouse. 😮
She ended up picking it up and taking it back over towards my computer desk and dropped it to play with it again, and it got away from her. So now there is a mouse hiding somewhere in my room. Lovely. I tried to move some things around to help her catch it, but it was no use. That little gray critter was hunkering down.
After all that excitement, I crawled back in bed and tried to get back to sleep. That didn’t happen until after 4:30 this morning. When I woke up, it was 8:01. I promptly climbed out of bed and made coffee.
Since adventure seems to be the word of the day, I tried something new for breakfast. Cream of Buckwheat. I saw it in the store and decided that a hot cereal would be nice to have as the days get colder. I’m glad I bought it. It was delicious! Very filling. I used milk instead of water, just a dash of salt, no butter, but when it was done I sprinkled some brown sugar on it and topped it with some sliced strawberries. Delicious! Pop tried to make some but he didn’t follow the directions. His came out rather soupy. He liked it though.
That is my morning so far, my friends. We only had one cat show up for breakfast today, too, so it’s just a strange day. Love you all and until next time, stay safe my friends.❤️
