A Bit Forgetful

Today’s Bible Reading- Jeremiah Chapters 9-10 & 1 Timothy Chapter 3.

Good morning, my friends. I hope you’re well. It’s a bit chilly this morning! Currently, it’s 48°, but we are expecting a high of 75° with no chance of rain.

Yesterday was a beautiful day. I wanted to get some work done on the sock, but it just didn’t happen. I don’t know what funk this is that I’m in, but I wish it would go away. I’m just super restless, but I have no energy to get anything done.

Anyhoo. I did make a trip to the Greek festival yesterday. It cost me $42 for three people, but this is a special event. I’ve never had food from the festival before. I got me and Pop a gyro and Mom got chicken tenders and fries. I was concerned the gyros would be small and unfilling, so I also ordered a side of Greek fries, which was basically fries sprinkled with some sort of seasoning. I also ordered a small pastry sampler. My reasoning was that we could try a variety of things.

The gyros were huge! I took the smaller one and had to save half of it for this morning’s breakfast. I only had a couple of fries. I think I may heat them up in the air fryer for a snack later on today. That was the first time I’d ever tried lamb, and it wasn’t that bad. Very tender and not gamey at all.

I had a slice of baklava 🤤(my favorite), and also munched on some sort of finger cookie that reminded me of a cross between Graham crackers and shortbread. The flavor was more like a Graham cracker, but the texture was like shortbread. I can’t pronounce the names of the cookies, but they were delicious. The shortbread cookies were soft and go really well with coffee.

Today’s dinner will be meatloaf, mashed potatoes and some sort of veggie. I have a number of things I can choose from on the veggie side. I also have three big cukes from the garden! Maybe I could make a small salad or something.

I don’t have much else to tell you. Oh yes I do! I forgot. My neighbor is having her house demolished on November 2. Tomorrow the power company is coming out to sever the power lines from the house. They’ll have to get into our backyard as the power pole is in front of our barn. That means that Pop will most likely have to move the RV so the truck can get into the yard.

Okay, now I’m all newsed out. That’s all the news for now, folks. Love you all and until next time, stay safe my friends.❤️
