Catching Up

Today’s Bible Reading- Jeremiah Chapters 11-16 & 1 Timothy Chapters 4-6.

Good morning, my friends. I hope you’re well. It’s quite chilly here this morning! I’m waiting on coffee to brew so I can warm up a little bit.

Our high today is expected to be 70° with no rain. Currently it’s 53°.🥶 Yesterday, we had a 50% chance of rain, but it was beautiful all day. Mom had lab work, so I took her there and knit a few rounds on my sock before she was ready to go. Late in the afternoon, though, it clouded up suddenly and gave us about an hour long downpour.

I tried to make chicken fritters for supper last night. I don’t know. I’m not sure how I feel about them. They’re supposed to be like crab cakes, but you use chicken instead. I don’t know. They did make a good sandwich, but by themselves…….ehh. Iffy. Mom said that Mac ‘n’ cheese would go well with them.

Tonight is taco night! 🥳. I’m looking forward to it. I’ve been battling depression for the last few days and could use a pick-me-up.

I believe the coffee may be done, so let me go grab a cup real quick.

Aah. Nothing like snuggling under blankets with a hot cup of coffee.

So today I’m going to try and push past my depression. I’m going to attempt to get my sheets changed and Mom has an appointment today with Medicare. I did find out yesterday that once the house is paid off, Mom and Pop will be eligible for a homestead exemption. That will reduce the amount of taxes we pay on the property. Huge help. Huge. This exemption is only for senior residents of my state.

Also, in other news, the tomato plants are doing really well. This weekend I’ll have to either wrap them up or start bringing them inside, as it’s going to start getting super chilly at night. This week is supposed to be our color week, too. That’s what we call the week where you get the best view of the changing leaves. The mountains already had their week a couple of weeks back, but this week is our turn. The dogwood is turning a beautiful red, while the oaks are deciding whether they want to be orange or yellow.

Since Halloween is on Sunday, I’m not sure how the trick or treating will be handled. I’ll be ready on both days, I guess.

That’s all for now, folks. The coffee is starting to kick in, and I need to read my Bible. Love you all and until next time, stay safe my friends.❤️
